IND VS AUS 2nd T20 2020 PREVIEW

 

The rally moves to Sydney now after an Indian victory in the capital city Canberra. The momentum has completely shifted in the Indian camp, in the last two matches. Now suddenly Indian team is looking favourites to win the T20 series, especially after the absence of Warner at the top for Australia. The star of the previous match Jadeja is ruled out of the remaining T20 matches due to hamstring issues. Shardul is called in as his replacement. Indian team would however bring an unchanged xi tomorrow except Chahal in place of Jadeja as the team looks settled and there is no reason to tinker with anything. Samson and Pandey will get another opportunity to prove themselves in the middle order especially Pandey who has taken the slot of Iyer. Only concern is that after the exit of Jadeja, the batting looks a little weak and fragile and there would be no cushion in the lower order except Pandya, so whole pressure will be on the Indian top order batsmen to make runs and register a big total on board because Australia will not have a bad day in every match like the first T20. The bowling department looks good and all the bowlers bowled amazingly and fought with a low total on board. Natarajan, Chahal and Deepak Chahar were amongst the wicket takers while Sundar was very miser in giving runs. Only weak link was Shami who went for lot of runs and went wicketless. He may be out of the match tomorrow and could be replaced by Bumrah as the 3 day warm up match begins tomorrow and Shami may participate in that. Coming to Australia, the team they chose in the first match was justified, the bowling impressed a lot especially Henriques who took 3 wickets in the match. The only disappointment was their batting, the openers Finch and Short gave a good start in the match but their middle order batsmen were unable to capitalize that and lost their wickets by playing loose shots. I think it was just a bad day for Aussies and they are a lot better team than what they displayed in the first T20. SCG is a happy hunting ground for Australia and equally inauspicious for India till now. But Kohli and co. have a chance to seal the series and improve their record at Sydney tomorrow.   A whitewash down under...,maybe? maybe not? This question will be answered tomorrow at Canberra. Both the matches at Sydney were one sided with Indian bowling looking clueless against ever hungry Australian batsmen. India haven't lost the series due to batting, the team managed to score above 300 runs in both the matches, the main damage has been done by our bowlers, excluding Shami, no one else looked motivated and determined to take wickets, the biggest disappointment are Bumrah and Chahal who performed extraordinarily in IPL 2020 but looked out of touch against Aussie batsmen. Saini is a liability for the team and should be rested until he is fully fit. Natarajan should replace him tomorrow as he is a left arm pace, a rare commodity in Indian cricket. IND VS AUS 3rd ODI 2020 SUMMARY

  Finally we can say, a complete performance by team India. After being bashed one sidedly at Sydney, they fought well at Canberra and resisted a whitewash. Virat won the toss and got third time lucky in this series, and of course opted to bat first on a flat deck of Manuka Oval. India made four changes in their side. Gill, Shardul, Natarajan and Kuldeep replaced Mayank, Shami, Saini and Chahal respectively. Natarajan made his debut for India. While Australia brought Cameron Green the debutant, Ashton Agar and Sean Abbott in place of Warner, Starc and Cummins. Indian openers started nicely especially Gill who looked compact and solid while playing strokes, he scored some good boundaries in the start, and even hit a short ball for six over fine leg. Unfortunately India lost its wicket in the sixth over with Shikhar Dhawan getting out to Sean Abbott. IND VS AUS 1st T20 2020 PREVIEW

  So After a one sided ODI series, we will move forward to the shortest and most uncertain format of the game...the T20's. Australia won the ODI's and will be high on spirits to take on India at Canberra today. While India who resisted a whitewash and won the 3rd ODI will carry a momentum with them, coming in this match. Players from both the teams participated in the recently concluded IPL 2020 and will be well versed with this format.
